Let's try this again, shall we?

Since my first (and only) post, a lot has changed. We got a dog, added a "surprise" baby to the family (who is now a toddler) and decided to move North to NY where I grew up.

As we navigate moving, and I navigate returning to NYS Standards and teaching and adjust to a new school district, I find myself repeating a lot of things that I have learned in my trevails.  So, I'm going to try again to Blog.  My goal for now is a mere one post a month, with my hope being that I'll post once a week.  Topics will range from allergy-friendly cooking, to gardening, to Teaching Languages with Proficiency.

So keep an eye on the space, and let's see if I can keep up this time!

Welcome!

Good morning!  I have been saying for 4 or 5 years now that I'm going to start a Blog so that I can more easily share all of the advice, recipes, links, etc that I come across and share in all of my various groups. I finally decided to just bite the bullet and DO IT!!!

For those that don't know me personally... I am a Spanish teacher, a mom, an aunt, a sister, a Tupperware Consultant, and more in a suburb of Charlotte, NC. I am originally from a suburb of Buffalo, NY and like most people nowadays I have friends and family all over!   In our family we have to deal with a dairy allergy and asthma (among other health issues) and I find myself sharing the same advice and recipes over and over again. This way I can link to a tag instead of searching my bookmarks and Pinterest and Google looking for links to other folks with similar ideas! I will do my best to always link to whoever I "stole" my ideas from, but some of these recipes have been in my drawer for 7 years now and I've doctored them and shared them over those years and I have NO IDEA where I got the original recipe idea from!!

I definitely don't have all the answers, and what works here may not work for you, but hopefully my life-lessons can be a starting point for someone else.

PS: Tomorrow we are posting a tutorial (plus pics) on my Cinnamon Bun Pancakes recipe.  I have NO IDEA where the original recipe for these came from any more. There are dozens of versions all over the web, and I've adapted this one to be Dairy Free (which is super easy.) I don't keep Biquick in my house any more because this is JUST AS EASY and they fluff up super nicely!!
